It's not difficult, it just adds another step that could be annoying to some. So, when I decided I wanted to plug in my wireless mouse (which uses a USB-A dongle), I had first to attach the adapter and then plug my dongle into the USB-A port. Additionally, an SD card reader can be found on the right. The XPS 17 (9730) features four Thunderbolt 4 ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery support (two on either side). The last few XPS line of laptops have set themselves up as thoroughly-modern devices thanks to the helpful ports they provide.
This design, in particular, has been used since mid-2020 (see our review from 2021).
